Australian Regulator Cracks Down on Illegal Overseas Gambling Websites

Australias telecommunications regulator, the Australian Communications and Media Authority (ACMA), is taking action against illicit overseas wagering platforms. They have identified an additional fourteen websites violating Australian regulations by providing these services and are instructing internet service providers to restrict access to them.

These platforms may appear legitimate, but the ACMA cautions that they likely lack customer safeguards. Individuals in Australia who utilize these websites risk financial losses.

This is not the first measure taken by the ACMA. Since 2019, they have blocked 375 unlawful gambling websites, and since 2017, over 150 sites have withdrawn from the Australian market to avoid facing the ACMA’s enforcement actions.

Attention, Australian players! The ACMA, our online guardian, has restricted entry to “We Love Lotto” and “Red Fox Lotto.” These foreign lottery platforms were selling entries to large international drawings without permission to function in Australia, becoming the initial victims of a fresh offensive.
