The launch of the authorized mobile sports wagering marketplace in North Carolina is just around the corner, and FanDuel has been designated as the official sports wagering collaborator of the Carolina Panthers.
This association is a significant event for FanDuel, as it grants them the privilege of being the pioneers in offering sports wagering within the state. The North Carolina Education Lottery Commission has verified that the state’s mobile sports wagering market will commence operations on March 11, and individuals can initiate the registration and funding of their accounts beginning on March 1.
FanDuel will have the ability to pre-register users on their application prior to the market’s activation, and they will also be collaborating with the Panthers to disseminate content on social media platforms and exhibit digital signage at Bank of America Stadium.
This marks FanDuel’s 22nd state in which they provide mobile sports wagering services, and they express enthusiasm about joining states such as Arizona, Colorado, and New Jersey.

The state commission last week confirmed eight interactive sports wagering licenses. It stated FanDuel, DraftKings, BetMGM, Fanatics, Bet365, ESPN Bet, and Underdog had secured licenses before the launch date.
This week, Caesars Entertainment became the initial company to go live in the market through a partnership with the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians in January. The tribe was also among the groups that secured interactive sports wagering licenses last week.
How is the state preparing for launch?
The Tar Heel State’s sports wagering industry officially commenced on June 14, 2023. Governor Roy Cooper signed into law House Bill 347, which laid out the schedule for the market’s debut, mandating North Carolina to issue regulations by January 8, 2024, and requiring betting companies to accept wagers by June 14, 2024.
The North Carolina Commission granted vendor permits to GeoComply and SBTech by March 11 and authorized a voluntary self-exclusion program for state residents. This program is a component of North Carolina’s problem gambling program, which will receive an extra $2 million per year to expand under House Bill 347.
Betters can select self-exclusion durations of one year, three years, five years, or a lifetime.
