The Dutch gaming authority, Kansspelautoriteit (KSA), has issued a stop order to Winning Poker Network for providing online gambling without a permit, in breach of national regulations.
The KSA initially examined Winning Poker Network last September and discovered that the operator was unlawfully offering games of chance.
Following contact from the authority, Winning Poker Network stated it would halt these operations.
However, further inspections by the KSA showed that while Winning Poker Network’s original website was no longer reachable from the Netherlands, Dutch players could still establish accounts on another website operated by the operator.
Consequently, the KSA stated that Dutch consumers could utilize these accounts to participate in games of chance illegally with Winning Poker Network.
The authority ruled that since the provision of unlawful games of chance had not been entirely stopped, it was issuing a cease and desist order, accompanied by a regular fine.
If the infractions persist, Winning Poker Network will be obligated to pay €25,000 (£21,954/$26,914) per week until the total amount for providing unlawful games of chance reaches €75,000.
The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has declared that they will closely monitor gambling enterprises to ascertain if they are violating regulations.
