Kindred Group Sees Slight Increase in Revenue From Harmful Gambling

The Kindred Group witnessed a modest uptick in the proportion of earnings derived from detrimental wagering during the third quarter.

Kindred’s brands, including Unibet, maintain a positive outlook on the quarter’s results. The organization stated that its emphasis on identification and automated intervention is evident in the favorable trend of enhanced conduct following intervention. The rate of behavioral improvement this quarter reached 86.7%, surpassing the 86.4% achieved in the second quarter and exceeding the 82.1% recorded in the final quarter of 2022. Roughly 3.3% of revenue originated from detrimental gambling between June 18 and September 19, 2023. This compares to 3.1% in the preceding quarter, marking the lowest figure since Kindred declared its objective of zero revenue from harmful gambling by the close of 2023 in 2018. The group remarked, “Although the trend remains consistent, further action is imperative.” Kindred disclosed that automated interventions have been progressively implemented, and enhancements have been incorporated into its safer gambling toolkit. This provides a more comprehensive responsible gambling experience for all of Kindred’s brands.

Although Kindred has been dedicated to building a more secure gambling atmosphere for all patrons, they acknowledge the necessity for further action to establish a long-lasting, sustainable gambling sector across all markets.

The beneficial impacts of the intervention are clear, with identified customers enhancing their gambling habits following intervention.

In the initial three months of 2020, income generated from detrimental gambling constituted 3.9% of total revenue, a figure that climbed to 4.7% later in the year. The positive impact of the intervention was 77.3% in the first quarter of 2020 and declined to 64.9% in 2021.
